What are the rules around wills when a Muslim marries a non-Muslim? Muslims cannot bequeath more than one-third of their estate by way of a will. The remaining two-thirds is inherited by legal heirs as per Muslim law. But the situation is different for Muslims whose marriage has been solemnised and registered under the Special Marriage Act.
